My guest this Friday is author of vampire mystery romance, Deborah Palumbo with her hot off the press book, 'The Banished One'

Hi Deborah welcome to the blog.

Well everyone, I am really happy to be here with all of you. I am a self published author with books available in eBook and paperback currently available exclusively on Amazon.

Anyway, It was a long journey to get here; something I've always wanted to do since I was a little girl, but didn't until fate stepped in and during a long period of illness and confinement I wrote books. Now I have 9 published and many more are sitting in files ready to be dusted off!
I wrote a screenplay with acclaimed actor/writer Jordan Rhodes which is my claim to fame. LOL. I loved the experience of screen writing especially with Jordan, but my true and first love is writing novels.

So, here we are together today thanks to Elodie, ready to discuss my vampire series The Undeparted,
and in particular book 3 The Banished One. Yeah, I've already finished book 3 which means you have to promise me you'll rush to Amazon and buy all 3 books and get caught up on the paranormal mystery/romance series and the characters, Quentin, the father of all vampires who is in an emotional transition, the beautiful and once mortal Cassandra, Quentin's sidekick since the 1200's the sexy and mean spirited Christian, and the vicious and evil Lucius.

Here's an excerpt:
Lucius escorted Patty into the Jeep and then slid in behind the wheel. He glanced at her sitting beside him; she was fidgeting with her hands; ringing them together nervously. "Don't be nervous Patty. I'm gonna make you feel things that you couldn't even read about."
That moist feeling between her legs spread through her whole body and tingled her spine. She couldn't have written the story any better and the fact that she was the woman in the story this time, well, it melted her like hot wax. She looked at Lucius sitting so close beside her in his tattered jeans and bad boy t-shirt and tattoo. She loved how the faded jeans hugged his masculine thighs, the white fray around the knees added this rugged element that turned her on. Yeah, he was a bad boy, the kind her mother warned her about, the kind her father would boot out the front door, but she had to be rational about things; there just weren't men knocking at her door on Saturday nights, so she had to relinquish the knight in shining armor fantasy and face the facts.
Suddenly, Lucius reached over and grabbed the seatbelt, brushing her breasts with his arm. Her body responded immediately. Her nipples swelled, begged to be touched again. He buckled her in. She could feel his hot breath on her neck. He wanted to sink his fangs in at that precise moment, but something in him wanted her to experience the touch of a man; the touch the mortal way.
Irrational thoughts stormed her brain with him being so close; he could be some psychotic killer, a serial rapist, but then again, he could turn out to be the man of her dreams; the man she's waited for all of her life. Her body was desperate for the touch of a man. She wasn't normally a gambler but he was so hot and she was so horny. The statistics of him being some masher were so minimal, and she wanted to feel a man inside of her so desperately, she decided that she made the right move getting into his car. Besides it was too late to protect herself now; she was buckled in. Oh, when he brushed against her breasts she knew she needed him, wanted him.
Suddenly as if reading her thoughts, he licked her neck, sending shivers down her body and he grabbed her one breast, squeezing it until her head fell back against the headrest and her eyes shut. She had been touched there before but only one time, and it never ended in love making. She was afraid to expose her body that first time, afraid of rejection or an ugly sneer. But Lucius made her feel perfect and beautiful and alive. He leaned in and kissed her while kneading her breast. He slipped his tongue into her mouth which caused this instant physical reaction deep inside of her. He pulled open her shirt, exposing huge mounds of flesh. Her excess weight was beautiful there. Lucius admired her for a moment before pulling her breast out of its harness. It dangled over the cup of her bra. He leaned in and suckled her. She moaned and pressed herself deeper against his wet mouth and swirling tongue.
He lingered there for an eternity before driving them to a secluded part of the park. He forced her out onto the ground and stripped her bare naked just like in the novels she read. His eyes roamed her flesh, pleased with the curves. She felt alluring and desirable for the first time in her life. When Lucius bit her neck the euphoria mounted and she begged him to enter her hard. He obliged, slipping his rigid manhood into her tight, warm place.

The Banished One. For 18+

The Banished One: love, murder, sex and VAMPIRES.

A sleepy little town has a secret: there's a serial killer vampire on the loose.

Lucius, is still wreaking havoc on the sleepy town in Tower City, and since he's supernatural he can't be captured by normal police procedure.

A frustrated Lieutenant Welby refuses to believe that the one responsible for those dead bodies in his town, is a vampire; that defies logic. There's got to be another explanation for those fang marks in the victims' throats.

Welby remains a staunch disbeliever in vampires until a series of preternatural events and the coroner's scientific evidence causes him to change his mind. Welby then follows the old town rumors right to Quentin, the father of all vampires and his gothic castle to enlist Quentin's supernatural aid in capturing Lucius.

Will Quentin, the only one who can stop Lucius' vampire tirades, help the Lieutenant or make him one of The Undeparted?

Will Quentin battle Lucius and send Lucius to the bowels of hell for eternity, finally ensuring that Cassandra is safe from her old beau? Will the old coal mining town be safe at last?

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did and falls in love with the series! Thanks everyone for letting me chew your ear off for a few minutes!

The next big thing blog hop with The Last Time from Elodie Parkes

I have been asked by author E R Pierce to participate in the next big thing blog hop with my current WIP.
Here are  my answers to the interview questions:

What is the working title of your next book?

The Last Time

The Last Time is currently being edited and is an erotic romance with a dash of suspense.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

An friend from a few years ago works in the film industry and has often told me about the dramas that can go on.

What genre does your book fall under?
Erotic romance, but it does have a dash of suspense and mystery.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I can’t think of any to be honest. I’ve seen models especially male models that might fit the look I would want for both Seth and Jake. As for Bethany…no idea.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Roll with it.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
It’s under consideration at the moment by publishers.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
First draft maybe four months. Then its gone through a re-write and two months of editing and reading until I was ready to submit it.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?
People looking for and hoping for love. Weird things they do for and because of love. The stories a friend told me as I said in question one.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
The love scenes are hot. The story has a main female character who admits her needs, but is strong, intelligent and gutsy. The main male characters are both Alpha and tender. There’s a little mystery and pathos but a happy ending in the tradition of erotic romance.

Here are the fabulous authors I’ve tagged to tell you about their Next Big Thing!

Please, make sure you check them out next Wednesday!

The Next big thing from ER Pierce
What is the (working title) of your book?
Duality,  A Cordelia Kelly Novel.
Where did the idea come from for the book?
Cordelia is an empath, and she reads people really well. She struggles with her light and dark sides. The idea stemmed from myself, as I have the innate ability to do the same.
What genre does your book fall under?
Darker, more Urban Fantasy, I suppose. There are sexual overtones, sexuality, and sensuousness about Duality, so it bridges the gap, in my opinion. It's hard to pin the genre down, so I would leave it up to you, once you read it.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Cordelia would be tough to cast, but maybe Scarlett Johansen or Kirsten Dunst. I also really love Melanie Martinez from the NBC show, THE VOICE. But she is really young. For Sol... Man, I have no idea. He would be impossible to cast. He's mysterious, alluring, intelligent, dangerous and he oozes pheromones.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Duality is about balancing your needs and wants. There is a thin line between good and evil, and Cordelia walks the line with soft feet.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I self-publish
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
About 3 months. My muse can be fickle and sometimes takes off for a while. But also, I have four kids, a husband and a household to run, and they sometimes have to come first.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I'm not sure, to be honest. Empaths aren't all the rage, currently.
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
My need to release the emotions pent up inside my head.
What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?
I think a lot of readers will relate on some level to Cordelia. She's a good person, her heart is always in the right place, but sometimes she makes bad decisions, and she's had a lot of trauma in her life. She struggles
with herself, with her opinions, with her needs and wants.

The guest author today is Lindsay Avalon with her new release 'Breaking the Nexus'

Hi Lindsay and welcome to the blog.
Tell us a little about yourself

I am a wife, a mother to an adorable mini schnauzer, a programmer, and now an author. I love reading romance because no matter what may be happening in my life, I can always count on my books to end happily ever after. The day I met my husband was the day I truly began believing in happily ever after. After hearing me complain a few too many times that I had “nothing” to read despite the hundreds of paperbacks scattered around the house, my husband began suggesting I write my own stories. When I finally took his advice I discovered that although I enjoy my day job as a software engineer, my true calling is to be an author.
My sister drilled into me an appreciation for fantasy and mythology, something I try to bring to my books. My debut novel, Breaking the Nexus started as a book written for NaNoWriMo and has grown to so much more. It was the conduit that introduced me to a fantastic group of independent authors who have changed my life in unimaginable ways.
When I’m not writing, I’ve found a passion for blogging and interviewing fellow authors. I also love reading (of course!), baking, crochet, sewing sock monkeys, playing video games, and all sorts of random crafts. I have an incurable love of rubber duckies and stuffed animals, and I believe nobody should have to grow up if they don’t want.

Today's Tuesday Tingle comes from 'Breaking the Nexus'

Throughout history, myths and legends of extraordinary creatures have been told and retold. Fantastic tales of demons and banshees, gryphons and dragons, and of course, magic. Stories that every child grows to learn are nothing more than fantasy…or are they?

Beyond the world you see lies a hidden realm, the Mythrian Realm, inhabited by all of the creatures you’ve been told are mere fiction. Only one thing lies between humans and the truth: the Nexus. A magical barrier erected millennia ago to separate the two realms, it has stood the test of time. Until now.

For Mythrian Sha Phoenix, magic is nothing new. But when she stumbles upon a portal on the verge of collapse, her fate will forever change. Pulled through the portal into the Human Realm, she lands in the middle of Detective Connor Flynn’s brutal murder scene. Soon it is obvious someone is using blood magic to try to bring down the Nexus. Together, Connor and Sha must work to unravel the secrets before the barrier falls and the realms collide.

The Nexus is breaking and all hell is about to unleash…literally.

Connor stared, transfixed by the sight of Sha stretching her arms behind her, arching her back to loosen the kinks of sitting in the uncomfortable chair for hours. His mouth went dry. At the hospital, she’d been given a set of scrubs so the crime scene techs could process her clothes. The shapeless, utilitarian garb shouldn’t have been sexy, but his body tightened to the point of pain. Well, this was awkward. And they were supposed to spend the rest of the evening and night alone. In a hotel suite. This was going to be a long night.

Ian coughed, the sound strange. Connor glanced over, eyes narrowing with disgust. The bastard was laughing at him, enjoying his predicament. “I’ll go get the diversion ready,” Ian said, shoulders still shaking with barely suppressed laughter.

When they were alone Connor turned back to Sha, wrestling for control over his libido. She opened her mouth as if to speak, her tongue darting out to moisten her lips, the simple movement sending another spear of heat straight to his groin. The fact that she seemed to be oblivious to her allure somehow made him want her more. He wondered how she would taste.

Damn, what the hell was he thinking? Bad enough she was a witness in an active crime, but they were in the middle of the freaking station. The captain would have his head, if not his badge, if he acted on the images emblazoned on his brain.
